6th Man launches with an integrated team model

KMO Insider covers the launch of 6th Man: senior specialists who work inside the client's team in short sprints, instead of beside it like a classic agency.

6th Man launched with a model that breaks with the classic agency setup. Instead of working from a distance, its specialists join the client's team: they sit in the meetings, work in the client's tools and build knowledge inside the company, in short sprints with a clear deliverable at the end of each one.

“We don't want to stand next to our clients, we want to play with them.”

The name comes from basketball: the sixth man comes off the bench and makes the difference at the decisive moments. Founder Arthur Lauwers, who worked at June20, AdSomeNoise and WeAreDigital before starting 6th Man, built the team from senior profiles only, so projects run from strategy to execution without handoffs to outside suppliers.

Working in sprints cuts out the endless meeting marathons and vague reports, Lauwers told KMO Insider. Every sprint ends with a tangible result.

Since this article, 6th Man has sharpened its focus on Shopify: building custom stores, migrating them and growing them with SEO and CRO, with the same team.

About 6th Man

Most agencies build your Shopify store and hand the growth to someone else. We do both.

6th Man is a Shopify team in Ghent. We build custom stores, migrate them from WooCommerce, PrestaShop or Tilroy, and run the SEO and CRO on the same store. The people who build it are the people who grow it, so nothing gets dropped at a handoff.

We take on the work most studios pass on: big catalogs, hard custom development, and stores that sell across borders.

No account managers. You work with the senior people doing the work, in two-week sprints.
