A B2B store lets business customers order on their own prices and terms. Since 2 April 2026 that works on every Shopify plan: company accounts, volume pricing, payment terms and up to three B2B catalogs are included in Basic, Grow and Advanced. You only need Shopify Plus for more catalogs, a catalog per customer, deposits or partial payments.

This article is part of our guide to B2B on Shopify. You'll read what Shopify can do per plan, how pay-on-invoice works, which integrations you need and how to build a B2B store step by step. Everything checked in October 2026.

What makes a B2B store different

A consumer store sells to everyone at the same price. A B2B store sells to businesses that each have their own agreements:

Prices per customer or customer group, and prices excluding VAT.

Volume pricing, minimum quantities and pack sizes.

Paying on invoice within 30 or 60 days.

Several locations and buyers per company.

Fast reordering of regular products.

Invoices that, in Belgium, must go out through Peppol.

Three catalogs sounds like little, but it's enough for many Belgian wholesalers and manufacturers: for example one for retailers, one for distributors and one for hospitality. If every customer has their own price list, you need Plus, or you let prices come from your ERP. All other differences between the plans are in Shopify plans compared.

Pay on invoice and payment terms

With payment terms, your customer places the order straight away and pays within 15, 30 or 60 days, by bank transfer or with a saved card. In your admin you see which orders are still open or overdue. That works on every plan. If you make to order and want a 30% deposit first, you need Plus. How payments work in Shopify more broadly is in our guide to Shopify payments.

Integrations: ERP, PIM and Peppol

In B2B, prices, credit limits and stock often live in an ERP, and product data in a PIM. A B2B store is only as good as those integrations. Decide per data point which system is in charge, and don't let Shopify guess; how to approach that is in our guide to Shopify integrations.

And don't forget invoicing: since 1 January 2026, invoices to Belgian businesses must go out as structured e-invoices. Shopify doesn't do that itself; the three ways to handle it are in Peppol and e-invoicing with Shopify.

B2B and B2C in one store or separate?

In one store you share catalog and inventory, and logged-in businesses see their own prices and terms. For most Belgian brands adding B2B, that's the simplest start. A separate B2B store makes sense when your wholesale has a different assortment, a different look or very different terms.

How to build a B2B store on Shopify

Map your customer groups and pricing agreements. Count how many price lists you really have; that decides whether three catalogs are enough.

Choose which system manages prices and stock. Shopify or your ERP, but never both.

Set up company accounts and catalogs. With locations, buyers and their permissions.

Set up payment terms and invoicing. Including Peppol for Belgian customers.

Make reordering fast. Order history, quick ordering by product code and search by item number.

Test with real customers. Have a few regular customers place real orders and check prices, VAT, invoice and the sync with your ERP.
