Shopify plans compared: Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus
Shopify Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus side by side: prices in Belgium, staff, rates, reports and B2B. With a worked example per plan.

Sees the whole floor. Calls the play, picks the shot, keeps the scoreboard honest.
Shopify has four plans: Basic (EUR 24 per month), Grow (EUR 69), Advanced (EUR 289) and Plus (from about USD 2,300), on yearly billing and excluding VAT. They differ in four things you'll notice: how many staff can log in, what you pay per card payment, how deep your reports go and a handful of Plus-only features. For most Belgian stores, Basic or Grow is the cheapest choice, even at solid revenue.
This article is part of our guide to what a Shopify store costs in total. Below you'll see every difference side by side, what it means in practice and at what revenue a more expensive plan pays for itself.

Prices and rates checked in October 2026 on Shopify's Belgian pricing page, excluding VAT. What you don't see in the table is in every plan: unlimited products, your own domain, your online store, Shopify POS Lite and 24/7 chat support.
What each difference means in practice
Staff: who can log in?
On Basic, only you log in as the owner. An agency or freelancer can work with you through a collaborator account, and that works on every plan. If you have your own team, say someone for customer service and someone for orders, you need at least Grow. Shared logins aren't a solution: you lose all visibility of who did what.
Transaction fees: when does a more expensive plan pay for itself?
Each plan up lowers the card rate by 0.2 percentage points. On yearly billing, Grow costs EUR 45 per month more than Basic. You earn that back from EUR 22,500 per month in online card payments. Bancontact costs the same on Basic, Grow and Advanced, so there's nothing to gain there. If 60% of your payments go through Bancontact, as in many Belgian stores, Grow only pays off from about EUR 56,000 revenue per month. Advanced costs EUR 220 per month more than Grow and only wins from EUR 110,000 per month in card payments. All rates and transaction fees per plan are in Shopify Payments fees and rates.
If you don't use Shopify Payments but, for example, Mollie, the maths flips. The fee drops from 2% on Basic to 1% on Grow. At EUR 4,500 revenue per month through that provider, you've already earned back the EUR 45.
Reports: what do you see about your numbers?
Basic shows a dashboard with the basics: revenue, orders, visitors and your best-selling products. Grow adds detailed reports on customers, marketing, inventory and retail sales. On Advanced and Plus you build your own reports, for example margin per product type per channel. If you steer on numbers and don't want to export everything to a spreadsheet, Grow is the minimum.
B2B: no longer Plus-only
Since April 2026, Basic, Grow and Advanced include company accounts with multiple locations, volume pricing, payment terms, purchase order numbers and up to three active B2B catalogs. Plus has unlimited catalogs and more options to separate your wholesale from your consumer store. More in our guide to B2B on Shopify.
What only Plus has
A fully customizable checkout, unlimited staff, 200 inventory locations, up to 200 stores with POS Pro included and the lowest rates: 1.4% + EUR 0.25 per card payment and EUR 0.29 per Bancontact payment. Plus usually only pays off at high revenue or when you really need one of those features. What Plus includes is in our explanation of Shopify Plus.
Selling in a store
POS Lite is in every plan. If you need staff permissions, inventory per location or in-store sales with home delivery, you pay EUR 79 per month per location for POS Pro. The in-store card rate drops by 0.1 percentage points per plan. Everything about subscription, hardware and in-store rates is in Shopify POS costs in Belgium.
Worked example: what does each plan cost a Belgian store?
Two stores with an average order of EUR 80, where 60% pay with Bancontact and 40% with a card, through Shopify Payments and on yearly billing. We add up subscription and payment fees, per month:
| Revenue per month | Basic | Grow | Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|
| EUR 40,000 (500 orders) | EUR 511 | EUR 524 | EUR 712 |
| EUR 150,000 (1,875 orders) | EUR 1,850 | EUR 1,775 | EUR 1,875 |
At EUR 40,000 per month, Basic is still just the cheapest; Grow costs you EUR 13 more, which is worth it as soon as a second person logs in. At EUR 150,000, Grow is the cheapest and Advanced stays more expensive. Calculate your own mix in our payment simulator.
Which plan fits you?
Basic: you're starting, work alone or with an agency, and sell under about EUR 50,000 per month with lots of Bancontact.
Grow: you have a team of two to five people, want detailed reports, or use a payment provider other than Shopify Payments.
Advanced: you have more than five staff, want to build your own reports or get paid out in another currency, or you sell more than EUR 110,000 per month by card.
Plus: you need a customized checkout, many stores or an extensive B2B operation, or your revenue is so high that the lower rates pay for the subscription.
These revenue thresholds are our calculation on transaction fees, not Shopify's advice. In practice, staff and reports often weigh more than the rates.
Switching plans
You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your admin. Yearly billing is about a quarter cheaper than monthly billing, but locks you in for a year. When you go back to a lower plan, you lose the features of the higher one, such as extra staff accounts. So start low and upgrade when you hit a concrete limit.
How 6th Man helps
For every store we build, we calculate up front which plan fits your revenue, your team and your payment mix, so you don't pay for features you don't use. See how we build a custom Shopify store.
What people ask about this.
For most small Belgian stores it's Basic. Grow becomes the better choice once you have a team that logs in, want detailed reports or use a payment provider other than Shopify Payments.
No. Since April 2026, Basic, Grow and Advanced include company accounts, volume pricing, payment terms and up to three B2B catalogs. Plus adds unlimited catalogs and more options.
Yes, at any time from your admin. When you downgrade you lose the features of the higher plan, such as extra staff accounts.
