Yes, you can connect Shopify to Exact Online. Paid orders then land in Exact automatically as an entry, invoice or sales order, and your stock from Exact goes back to your store. You can do that with an app from the Shopify App Store, through an integration platform or with a custom integration. Don't want to deal with it yourself? 6th Man sets up the integration for you.

This page is part of our overview of Shopify integrations. You read what an integration with Exact Online brings you, which options exist and what to watch. Checked November 2026.

What an Exact integration does for your store

Without an integration someone exports orders from Shopify and retypes or imports them into Exact. That costs time and causes errors, especially in busy periods. With an integration:

every paid order is in Exact with customer, VAT and payment method;

refunds are processed too, so your revenue is right;

your store shows the stock from Exact, if you use the trade module;

you send B2B invoices from Exact, also through Peppol. More in Peppol and e-invoicing with Shopify.

Three ways to connect Shopify and Exact Online

1. An app from the Shopify App Store

For a standard store an app is the fastest route. Known options are Combidesk (orders, refunds and customers), Webwinkelfacturen (sales data and daily summaries) and iWebDevelopment (entries, invoices or sales orders with stock back to Shopify). They charge a monthly fee and mainly target the Netherlands. So check that the app handles your Belgian VAT codes and Shopify Payments payouts correctly.

2. An integration platform

Platforms such as APIcenter connect orders, products, stock and shipments between Shopify and Exact, also for Shopify POS. With Make or n8n you build your own flows. More freedom than an app, but someone has to set them up and monitor them.

3. A custom integration

If you work with B2B customers, several shops or your own way of booking, a custom integration fits better. It follows your own ledger, journals and VAT rules instead of an app's standard.

What to watch

Entry, invoice or sales order? Decide with your accountant how a store order should land in Exact. That determines which app or approach fits.

Payouts and fees. A Shopify Payments payout bundles orders, fees and refunds. Your bookkeeping has to be able to reconcile it.

Belgian VAT. Check VAT codes per country, especially if you also sell to the Netherlands or France.

Monitoring. Someone has to see when an order doesn't come through, before your accountant notices at the VAT return.

How 6th Man sets up your Exact integration

We connect Shopify to your accounting or ERP so your team and your accountant don't have to look after it anymore:

We pick the approach: an existing app, an integration platform or custom work.

We set up the integration and test with real orders, refunds and payouts.

We monitor it, so you get an alert when something doesn't come through.
